How we print
How we produce planning sets
This is the way we print, bind and deliver planning inquiry submissions. It's what you get
as standard, so you don't have to specify it. Send your files however they're organised and we'll take
care of the rest.
Printing
- A4 documents are printed double-sided on 100gsm paper or better.
- A3 plans are printed single-sided and folded to A4, so they sit in the binders with everything else.
- Larger plans are printed and folded to preserve their scale whenever you need them that way -
just say so with your files.
- Landscape and visual impact assessments are printed to scale and folded to suit.
Binding and structure
- Sets are bound in 4D presentation binders unless you ask for something else.
- Binders are never overfilled. We leave clearance so they open, close and last the inquiry.
- No chapter is ever split across two binders. Each one stays together, start to finish.
- Design and access statements and non-technical summaries are produced as separate documents,
wiro bound so they open flat.
Finding your way around
- Every binder opens with a contents page.
- Every section gets a typed or numbered tab. Never handwritten.
- Coloured divider sheets separate the chapters.
- Spines are labelled with the project name, the document title and the volume number.
Checks before anything is printed
- Your files are checked for quality and compatibility before production starts.
- Pagination and indexing are reviewed against your structure before we run the full set.
- Versions are tracked, and any change is confirmed with you before it's printed.
- Sets are checked again as they're assembled, binder by binder.
Delivery
- Sets are packed securely and tracked.
- Where we can, we hand-deliver to the authority ourselves.
- For anything urgent we use a time-critical service.
- Delivery is planned around your submission deadline, not ours.
Need something different for this job? Add it to the notes when you
check in your files, or get in touch and we'll work to whatever the inquiry asks for.
